ACDIS update: Call for committee volunteers open now!

CDI Strategies - Volume 16, Issue 22

ACDIS’ volunteer boards and committees are the heartbeat of our organization. The people serving in these groups provide best-practice guidance, review materials for publication, advocate on behalf of the association’s members, plan celebrations and appreciation programs, and much more.

Not only do these committee members make a difference for the ACDIS community, but they widen their own professional and personal networks through their terms of service. Each committee has eight to 12 members from all professional and personal backgrounds, geographic locations, and organization types.

Right now, ACDIS is calling for volunteer applications for four of our committees. We truly believe that our committees represent a microcosm of the broader ACDIS environment—a place where CDI professionals can meet, learn, network, and collaborate with peers.

If you’ve been on the fence about committee service before, now’s the time to jump in. Take a look at the committees currently accepting new members and apply today:

  • 2023 Events Committee: Tasked with planning ACDIS in-person and virtual events in collaboration with the ACDIS administration to meet CDI specialists personal and professional education and networking needs in light of the changing landscape.
  • Furthering Education Committee: Responsible for maintaining and updating the ACDIS CDI Scholarship Program and planning for the annual CDI Week activities.
  • ACDIS Regulatory Committee: Reviews regulatory policy and coding and clinical updates, comments to agencies on behalf of ACDIS, and provides summary, interpretation, and analysis to the ACDIS membership.
  • Diversity and Inclusion Task Force: Strives to make CDI a community that embodies social responsibility through promoting a positive environment of greater diversity and inclusion across all cultures, races, ethnicities, sexual orientations, gender identities, ages, and educational backgrounds; to break the silence that accompanies discrimination and inequity; and to ensure that all feel valued, empowered, and welcomed.

To apply for any of these committees, click here and fill out the requested information by 11:59 p.m. eastern on Thursday, June 30. Applicants will be notified of committee appointments in early July.
