ACDIS update: New tools added to the ACDIS Resource Library

CDI Strategies - Volume 13, Issue 2

The ACDIS Forms & Tools Library Committee wrapped up 2018 strong by reviewing and approving several new submissions for publication in the ACDIS Resource Library, are now available to ACDIS members. Additionally, the committee has included some suggestions for those adapting these resources.

For those looking for an evaluation tool to assess CDI staff’s competency, Valarie Parent, RN, BSN, CCDS, CCRN-K, CDI manager at Northern Light Health at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, submitted an Excel-based evaluation form. The evaluation form can be found in the “Policies and Procedures” section of the Library.

If outpatient expansion was in your 2019 plan, Yvonne Whitley, RN, BSN, CRCC, CPC, CRC, the supervisor for Novant Health Medical Group’s ambulatory CDI team, donated some resources to get you started. In the “Job Descriptions” section of the Library, you’ll a sample ambulatory CDI specialist job description, and in the “Education” section, you’ll find a sample staff training procedure.

Though the committee offers specific advice for each sample on each individual page, they also recommend that those wishing to use any sample as a basis for their own tool should review and adapt it for their program’s needs.

If you have a tool or resource you’d like to share, please send it to ACDIS Editor Linnea Archibald (larchibald@acdis.org). The ACDIS membership and leadership team thanks you!
