ACDIS update: ‘Flourish’ in your career development and speak at the 2023 national conference in Chicago!

CDI Strategies - Volume 16, Issue 32

Note: The speaker application deadline has been extended from August 19 to Monday, August 29, 2022!

The year 2022 is just flying by! With that, ACDIS is focused on finding speakers to present next year at our national conference in Chicago, Illinois, to be held May 8-11, 2023. This annual event features the best of the best for CDI professionals seeking to network, improve their CDI department, and grow professionally. Our educational tracks offer a wide range of subjects, from staff management to physician engagement to clinically focused chart reviews. No matter your favored CDI subject to present on, ACDIS is happy to work with you and try to find a good place for it in our lineup of presentations! Applications are open through August 29, 2022.

Benefits

Why present? Speakers at the ACDIS national conference are given many benefits, including the opportunity to advance your professional development and experience at one of the largest annual conferences centered on the CDI profession. You have the chance to get on the podium in front of an engaged, supportive audience made up of your CDI peers and share your unique perspective!

On top of that, speakers receive free admission to the entirety of the national conference. If you speak with a colleague, up to two speakers total can receive this complimentary registration!

Submission form and deadline

Applying is simple. The online form will ask for a complete proposal and an up-to-date biography paragraph, which will be used in the agenda. You will also need to fill out all the requested contact information so that we can easily contact you and make sure your registration details are correct. We highly suggest that you include a draft of your slide presentation, as this will help the committee better understand the scope of your presentation and therefore could increase your chance of being selected.

Applications will be reviewed by the ACDIS Events Committee and ACDIS staff on a rolling basis for the 2023 in-person live conference and may also be considered for other future virtual events. To give the committee enough time for review and for the selected speakers to create their presentations, you will need to submit your application no later than August 19 to be considered.

Tip: Writing your responses in a Word document can make it easier to edit and make sure you’re happy with them. Then you just need to copy and paste it into the online form!

Session guidelines

While considering this opportunity, please note that the session will last for an hour, with the presentation taking up 45 minutes followed by 15 minutes of Q&A. Applicants should prepare their presentations with this in mind.

If you’d like to submit more than one session you are welcome to, but please complete a separate form for each submission. If you are planning for a presentation with multiple speakers, whoever submits the form will be required to include the basic information about all other co-speakers in the application. If you plan to have a panel discussion, please limit the speakers to four individuals, and your team can decide which two speakers receive the complimentary registrations.
