ACDIS update: ACDIS Regulatory Committee “hot topics” includes SOI comparison

CDI Strategies - Volume 16, Issue 5

The ACDIS Regulatory Committee recently posted its first hot topic for 2022, which is focused on severity of illness comparison of a newborn with respiratory distress syndrome being lower than for a newborn with unspecified respiratory distress. Head to the “Regulatory Committee Insight” page (found under “Thought Leadership” in the ACDIS website menu) for a full explanation and recommendations related to this topic.

The ACDIS Regulatory Committee exists to review regulatory policy, coding, and clinical updates, comment to agencies on behalf of ACDIS, and provide summary, interpretation, and analysis to ACDIS members.

Note any advice or findings represent the conclusions and opinions from the Regulatory Committee. The advice and guidance do not replace or supersede any direction or guidelines set forth by your organization, facility, or the Cooperating Parties. Consult your organization’s leadership and/or administration before implementing changes that may conflict with your organizational standards.

A complete list of all the current Regulatory Committee members can be found on the “Boards & Committees” page. All Regulatory Committee guidance can be found here.
