ACDIS update: Discover your potential and speak at an ACDIS event!

CDI Strategies - Volume 17, Issue 27

Have you heard yet that applications are open to speak at an ACDIS event? We are looking for speakers to present at multiple different in-person events, namely the 2024 ACDIS national conference (held April 8-11, 2024, in Indianapolis) as well as the ACDIS Physician Advisor Forum and the ACDIS Symposium: Outpatient CDI which both directly precede the conference (April 7-8, 2024)! These events cover a diverse range of CDI topics and best practices that we need CDI professionals currently working in the field to speak on. Why not you?

Benefits
Being an ACDIS speaker provides you with many benefits, including free admission to the event for selected speakers. (Collaborate with a colleague and you can both get in free!) Speakers also are afforded opportunities to advance your professional development, share your knowledge with a supportive and engaged audience, and give back to the profession, whether you’re new on the podium or a veteran speaker!

Submission form and deadline
How do you get started? First, complete the online form, which is available here. If your presentation is selected, the information you provide will be used in the agenda, so please remember to do the following:

  • Submit a complete proposal, answering all questions included in the application.
  • Use proper letter/sentence casing so that the data is clean and easily readable.
  • Include an up-to-date biographical paragraph.
  • Complete all your contact information, so that we can both reach you and validate your registration details.
  • Include a draft of your slide presentation, if possible, as this may increase your chances of being selected!

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis for the 2024 in-person live conference and may also be considered for future virtual events. Submissions are reviewed by the ACDIS Events Committee and ACDIS staff.

Tip: Many applicants find it easier to write their responses in a Word document, editing the responses until they are happy with the information, and then copying and pasting it into the online form.

Session guidelines
The hour-long session you’ll need to prepare a 45-minute presentation for, followed by 15 minutes of Q&A. You are welcome to submit more than one session but must complete a separate form for each submission. If you are applying to present with one or more co-speakers, please note that you will be required to submit basic info about them during the application process, so be sure to have your colleague's contact information ready at hand.

Only two speakers total for each session will receive complimentary registration for the conference. If you wish to have a panel discussion, please limit the participation to four individuals. Your team will decide who receives complimentary registrations.

If you’ve been wanting to share your advice with the CDI community and develop as a professional, now is your chance! The application closes on Monday, July 24. If you'd like more information, or you wish to discuss a speaking topic, please email ACDIS Director of Programming Rebecca Hendren at rhendren@acdis.org.
