ACDIS update: Help us gather data on admission type management!

CDI Strategies - Volume 18, Issue 18

Healthcare institutions categorize and manage admission types, specifically urgent versus elective admissions, in various ways. To better analyze institutional practices, challenges, and innovations in admission type determination, the ACDIS Regulatory Committee is circulating this survey on admission type management now available for one more week!

The purpose of this survey is to gather detailed insights, identify discrepancies and areas where current definitions may fall short, and assess the need for evaluation requests to the National Uniform Billing Committee (NUBC) definitions. The Committee hopes to use this data to ensure patient admission categorization accurately reflects clinical realities, which can then impact patient safety, billing processes, and healthcare delivery efficiency.

If you’d like to help revise admission type definitions to better align with contemporary healthcare practices, click here to take the survey by end-of-day Wednesday, May 8!
