ACDIS update: How to get your 0.5 ACDIS CEUs for ACDIS Podcast episodes

Did you know you can earn 0.5 ACDIS CEUs for each episode of the ACDIS Podcast you listen to? If you were to listen to all 26 episodes in the calendar year, that’d mean you would earn 13 free CEUs just through that avenue. When you take into account the fact that you need 30 CEUs to recertify your CCDS or CCDS-O credential every two years, that means you could earn more than 86% of your needed credits for free just through the podcast over that two-year period.

While we know many of our ACDIS members and CDI friends are already taking advantage of this opportunity, we wanted to provide some simple steps to guide you through the easy process so you can start earning your credits.

1. Listen to the ACDIS Podcast episode in the first two days from the time of publication: Episodes are posted every other Wednesday and the CEU period is open until 11 p.m. eastern on the following Friday. You can listen on the ACDIS website or via your favorite podcast app.
   
   1. To listen on the website, click the “ACDIS Podcast” link under the “Resources” tab. Then scroll down below the show description and click the most recent show link from the list. The podcast recording is at the bottom of the page, below the show notes.
   2. To listen on your podcast app of choice, simply search for “The ACDIS Podcast” and subscribe to the show.

After listening to the episode, respond to the brief evaluation survey before Friday at 11 p.m. eastern: In order to claim your 0.5 ACDIS CEUs, you have to complete a brief evaluation survey before the cut-off for the episode. The CEU link always closes at 11 p.m. eastern on the Friday after the episode is posted, giving listeners more than 48 hours to respond. For example, for the Wednesday, July 21, episode next week, you’ll have until Friday, July 23, at 11 p.m. eastern to claim the CEUs. To claim your CEUs follow the steps below.
   
   1. If you are listening to the episode on the ACDIS website, simply wait until the recording gets to zero (as in, the outro music has stopped playing). The live, clickable link will appear in the episode viewer, and it will take you directly to the survey.
   2. If you listen to the episode on your podcast app, simply navigate to the episode using the instructions above, go to the end of the episode (after the outro music has stopped playing), and click the link when it appears in the episode viewer. Upon completion of the survey, the CEU certificate will be automatically emailed to you.
