ACDIS update: Join us December 8 for the CDI Leadership Council Research Series recap webinar
Despite the challenges and budget cuts leveled at CDI programs in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, still 98% of leaders feel their organization sees the value in their CDI program and 72% said their budgets stayed the same or increased in 2021 over 2020. Additionally, though CDI responsibilities have increased over time (from expansion to other settings to quality review and denials management), 57% said technology has increased productivity and 54% said it’s freed up time for more complex reviews.
Of course, a CDI leader’s role still isn’t easy by any stretch. Today’s CDI leaders juggle many priorities at once, balancing CDI departmental needs and bandwidth against the needs and goals of the broader organization. In collaboration with 3M Health Information Systems, ACDIS issued a survey in January 2021 to members of the ACDIS CDI Leadership Council. Its purpose was to gather data on the ways leaders monitor impact and communicate CDI’s value to justify program investments, how CDI departments leverage technology to advance their goals, and the ways in which CDI programs impact quality measures and show their positive return on investment.
Now, ACDIS is pleased to partner again with 3M to share the results of this survey with the broader CDI community and highlight the implications for all CDI professionals—both those in leadership and staff-level positions. Join ACDIS Associate Editorial Director Linnea Archibald, members of the ACDIS CDI Leadership Council, and a special guest panelist from 3M for a free webinar on Wednesday, December 8, 1-2:30 p.m. eastern, featuring an in-depth discussion of the priorities and challenges leaders face and an open question and answer session.
