ACDIS update: Less than two weeks left to apply for a committee volunteer position!

CDI Strategies - Volume 16, Issue 24

Looking to get more involved in the CDI community? ACDIS’ volunteer boards and committees contribute to the association’s best-practice guidance, plan celebrations and appreciation programs, review materials for publication, vote for awards, advocate on behalf of all ACDIS members, and more. Considering all the professional development and personal networking opportunities available during a member’s term of service, being a committee volunteer can have an immeasurable impact on you, your CDI program, and the CDI community at large.

ACDIS is currently calling for volunteers for four of our committees. Each committee has eight to 12 members who serve for a total of one to three years depending on the committee. Applicants from all professional and personal backgrounds, geographic locations, and organization types are encouraged to apply and help our committees continue to represent the community at large.

If you’re interested in the opportunity to learn, network, teach, and collaborate on a broader level within the ACDIS community, take a look at the committees looking for new volunteers and apply today:

  • 2023 Events Committee: Tasked with planning ACDIS in-person and virtual events in collaboration with the ACDIS administration to meet CDI specialists personal and professional education and networking needs in light of the changing landscape.
  • Furthering Education Committee: Responsible for maintaining and updating the ACDIS CDI Scholarship Program and planning for the annual CDI Week activities.
  • ACDIS Regulatory Committee: Reviews regulatory policy and coding and clinical updates, comments to agencies on behalf of ACDIS, and provides summary, interpretation, and analysis to the ACDIS membership.
  • Diversity and Inclusion Task Force: Strives to make CDI a community that embodies social responsibility through promoting a positive environment of greater diversity and inclusion across all cultures, races, ethnicities, sexual orientations, gender identities, ages, and educational backgrounds; to break the silence that accompanies discrimination and inequity; and to ensure that all feel valued, empowered, and welcomed.

Applicants will receive notification of committee decisions in early July. Applications close at 11:59 p.m. eastern on Thursday, June 30, so click here to fill out the requested information and take the next step in your ACDIS journey!
