ACDIS update: One more week to experience professional growth and apply for an ACDIS committee!
So many in the CDI community go above and beyond their essential everyday work. Here at ACDIS, we rely on and applaud every volunteer who has contributed efforts to CDI guidance, appreciation and recognition programs, celebrations, and served the CDI community—and ACDIS boards and committees provide a great avenue for any CDI professional looking to do so. Volunteers also have the personal opportunity to widen their own professional network through their terms of service.
Many of our ACDIS committees are open for volunteer applications until Friday, June 30. The Events Committee, Furthering Education Committee, Regulatory Committee, and Diversity and Inclusion Committee are all looking for new volunteers, so don’t miss out on your chance to get involved!
Events Committee members help plan the agenda for the ACDIS national conference and ACDIS Symposium: Outpatient CDI, as well as choose the winners of the ACDIS Achievement Awards. For a more detailed list of responsibilities, read the Events Committee scope of work.
Furthering Education Committee members maintain and award the ACDIS CDI Scholarship program. They also help plan CDI Week activities and festivities and contribute education to the celebration each year. For a more detailed list of responsibilities, read the Furthering Education Committee scope of work.
Regulatory Committee members divide into three subgroups tasked with promoting better coding and clinical accuracy within the commentary period of the CMS IPPS rule-making process. They also monitor and provide guidance on quality regulations. For a more detailed list of responsibilities, read the Regulatory Committee scope of work.
Diversity and Inclusion Committee members work to make CDI a community that embodies social responsibility through promoting a positive environment of greater diversity and inclusion across all cultures, races, ethnicities, sexual orientations, gender identities, ages, and educational backgrounds. They also work to break the silence that accompanies discrimination and inequity, and to ensure that all feel valued, empowered, and welcomed. For a more detailed list of responsibilities, read the Diversity and Inclusion Committee scope of work.
The Physician Advisor Committee is a brand-new committee looking for physician advisors to help craft guidance and best practices for other physician advisors in CDI! Among its tasks, the group will author a white paper on the role of the physician advisor in CDI and recommend best practices.
