ACDIS update: Regulatory Committee posts insight on COVID-19 in children

CDI Strategies - Volume 14, Issue 33

The ACDIS Regulatory Committee has posted their latest paper on the topic of the presentation of COVID-19 in children and the CDI team’s effect. With the progression of the pandemic, the role of CDI specialists becomes a crucial part in the effort to accurately track the public’s health. CDI specialists are uniquely positioned to provide support to both clinicians and coders for the virus’ impact, while continuously rising to the challenge of staying current with COVID-19 updates.

Up until now, the public health data collection has been mainly focused on the adult novel coronavirus patient, but CDI professionals are beginning to see that data indicating that COVID-19 is impacting children’s health as well.
