CCDS update: Website changes, flowcharts simplify CCDS information

CDI Strategies - Volume 11, Issue 32

For those of you who’ve visited the CCDS pages on the ACDIS website before, you likely did a lot of reading. To keep the the information on the pages is correct, current, and comprehensive, the ACDIS team recently gave the CCDS pages a facelift.

For one thing, all of the links to applications, the handbook, etc. can now be easily seen at the top of the relevant page. That way visitors don’t have to sift to the bottom of the page to download their needed materials.

Another change is a cheat-sheet style flowchart for determining whether or not you qualify to sit for the CCDS exam. While all this information is present in both the Exam Candidate’s Handbook and on the website, the flowchart provides a visual, quick reference to answer your question quickly.

While completing the flowchart does not eliminate the application process, it will save you some time sorting through the materials on the website as you decide whether or not to apply . To download the flowchart, click here.

With the redesign of the CCDS pages, the ACDIS team hopes to streamline the process as you prepare for any step of the CCDS journey—from qualification, to recertification, to CEU applications—and limit the hiccups you might encounter.

Candidates hoping to earn their Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist credential must still read the Exam Candidate’s Handbook as they prepare to apply. In fact, it’s the first step in the process:
