Conference corner: 2020 speaker call deadline set for end of August

CDI Strategies - Volume 13, Issue 33

It’s hard to believe it’s August already. Seems like summer just started, seems like we were all just together at ACDIS 2019 in Orlando. But here we are planning the 2020 conference in Las Vegas.

The call for 2020 presentation proposals opened June 28 and will remain open until August 30. (Click here to begin your application.) The strength of the annual event depends on the continued willingness of the CDI community to share their experiences on stage with their fellow professionals.

Additionally, the conference seeks to meet a wide variety of educational needs so those with as little as a year’s worth of experience will leave armed with as many ideas to expand their scope of practice as those with more than a decade of experience. The session tracks will remain similar to last year, with Clinical & Coding, Program Management & Professional Development, Regulatory & Quality Initiatives, and Idea Laboratory tracks. (Click here to read the conference committee’s suggested session ideas.)

Please take a few minutes to familiarize yourself with the application form, communicate with your colleagues, brainstorm ideas, and collect any necessary supportive materials. Those interested in presenting will be asked to:

  • Upload information about themselves and co-presenters (so it’s best to have your colleague with you as you complete the forms, if applicable)
  • Draft an agenda and outline for the presentation
  • Create a set of learning objectives for the audience
  • Include a marketing summary/description
  • Submit a draft of the proposed presentation
  • Create a recorded snip-it of your presentation (optional)

While the conference committee will assess each proposal based on the experience of the speakers and the thoroughness of the application, fresh ideas and stories of strong innovative approaches to CDI are most welcome. Don’t be afraid to throw your hat in the ring and share your CDI story. The conference committee may very well choose you and you could earn complimentary admission to the event in exchange for your bright ideas!
