Conference corner: 2021 annual conference rescheduled

CDI Strategies - Volume 14, Issue 50

With the uncertainty remaining around the COVID-19 pandemic, ACDIS has made the decision to reschedule our annual conference. Originally scheduled for May 17-20, 2021, the conference will now take place October 25-28, 2021. It will remain at the Sheraton Hotel in Dallas, Texas. We are planning on hosting our usual live pre-conference events and adding online/virtual tracks to supplement the in-person offering.

We know that thousands of CDI professionals nationwide look forward to this event, and the decision to reschedule was not made lightly.

ACDIS anticipates a wonderful, responsible, in-person reunion next October. Please know we will continue to closely monitor guidance for meetings outlined by the CDC and WHO, as well as state and local mandates. Details regarding our safety measures will be shared as we get closer to the event date. We hope you will plan to join us.

Due to this move, we will keep the conference speaker application period open through January 8, 2021. We encourage you to apply to speak by clicking here. Two speakers total for each selected session will receive complimentary registration to the conference. All submissions will additionally be considered for new online and supplemental events as well.

Education remains an integral mission of ACDIS. CDI professionals depend on us to provide continuing education, peer-to-peer networking, and best practices to meet their professional needs. We are excited about the wide range of virtual events we’re planning this winter and into 2021, starting with the Dec. 9-11, 2020 ACDIS Online: Uncovering Outpatient CDI Opportunities. This one-of-a-kind online event offers CDI professionals a unique chance to interrogate the benefits of medical record reviews in the outpatient setting.

Thank you for your ongoing commitment to ACDIS and the CDI profession, and for playing an important role in the delivery of our nation’s healthcare. We hope you and your families remain safe in this unprecedented time. We look forward to many virtual engagements and meet-ups, and a reunion in 2021 in the heart of Texas.
