Conference corner: Important update regarding the 13th annual ACDIS conference

CDI Strategies - Volume 14, Issue 13

Dear ACDIS members and CDI professionals,

ACDIS has made the difficult and unprecedented decision to postpone the 13th annual ACDIS conference, scheduled to take place May 5-8, 2020, at the Mirage Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. We are working to reschedule the event to the fall, with a new date expected in the coming weeks.

The decision to move ACDIS’ flagship annual event was not taken lightly. ACDIS has been closely monitoring updates and recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO) regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as the situation in Las Vegas. Over the last few weeks ACDIS has been notified of an increasing number of travel restrictions placed on healthcare organizations, and firm recommendations on social distancing and avoiding groups of larger than 10 people.

With the health, safety, and well-being of our members, staff, exhibitors, faculty and other stakeholders of paramount importance, ACDIS believes it is in the best interest of everyone to postpone the event until the fall. This measure will allow our attendees to focus on helping their organizations in this difficult time, and maintains our obligation as responsible citizens to curtail the spread of COVID-19. It will also allow us to preserve the hard work of our more than 100 speakers, who have developed innovative content that we’re excited to share with you later this year.

We will be sharing more news on the rescheduled event (dates, location, etc.) as it becomes available. In the meantime, we hope you and your families remain safe, and we thank you for doing your part to help our communities, patients, and front-line responders deal with this national state of emergency.

All the best, and stay healthy,

Brian Murphy

Director, ACDIS
