Local chapter update: Michigan chapter holds annual fall conference virtually

The Michigan ACDIS chapter has been holding annual conferences for nearly a decade. The challenges of 2020 haven’t stopped the dedicated team of volunteer chapter leaders. Earlier this summer, the leadership team realized plans for an in-person event due to the COVID-19 pandemic was likely not feasible. So, they turned to technology to present their first virtual Michigan conference.

They deployed a Google survey as means of registration for the event, promoting it on their Facebook page. The event featured four presentations topics such as the role of CDI in denials and appeals, COVID-19, IPPS updates, and CDI/coding collaboration. Among the fun, networking items the team developed was a “Wheel of Fortune” raffle selection method. Nearly 80 people participated!
