Member Insight: Provider CDI education during onboarding

As CDI has grown over the years, its far-reaching implications for patient care and institutional standing have become increasingly apparent. The strength of documentation integrity largely depends on the scribblings (whether typed or written) of the provider’s pen. Therefore, a CDI program must have support from providers to be successful. Otherwise, like a plant that fails to develop roots, it may never grow. This is why it’s so important to engage providers in CDI education and initiatives from minute one: during their onboarding process.
