News: ACDIS publishes new white paper on the evolution of CDI
A lot has changed since the implementation of MS-DRGs, both in the world of healthcare broadly and in CDI particularly.
With changing payment methodologies and the ongoing shift from fee for service-based payment to pay for performance in the healthcare industry, CDI has had no choice but to evolve.
Traditional CDI metrics such as case mix index, length of stay, and CC/MCC capture rates are no longer sufficient to tell the whole story. CDI departments must think outside the box and adopt new metrics to measure CDI efforts, according to ACDIS’ new White Paper, “CDI and the evolution from finance to quality.”
In the White Paper, the ACDIS Advisory Board provides an overview of the shifting reimbursement landscape, strategies for working closer with quality, and ideas to get started.
