News: CMS accepting suggestions for potential PQRS measures

CDI Strategies - Volume 9, Issue 11

CMS will accept quality measure suggestions for potential inclusion in the Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS) for future rule-making years. Measures must be submitted prior to June 15 to be considered for the 2015 PQRS implementation.

Those interested in submitting a measure should visit the Measures Management System Call for Measures web page. Each submission must include all required documentation listed on the page to be considered. All measures will be assessed and, as time permits, feedback will be provided to submitters. Questions about the call for measures or the required documentation may be submitted to C4M@wvmi.org.

CMS says the organization will give priority to measures that are outcome-based, answer a measure gap, and address the most up-to-date clinical guidelines. Quality measures submitted may also be considered for use in other quality programs for physicians and other professionals, such as Physician Compare and Medicare Shared Savings Program, according to CMS.
