News: RAC activity on the rise, says AHA survey

RAC denials rose by 24% over the previous quarter, according to the August 22 RACTrac survey results from the American Hospital Association (AHA). Hospitals cite medical necessity denials as the primary target with a majority of those claims being denied for care provided in the wrong setting. The recent report also shows facilities appealing more denials, 40%, with a 75% success rate.
