Note from the ACDIS Editor: Connecting CDI leaders for networking, friendship, advice

CDI Strategies - Volume 14, Issue 31

by Linnea Archibald

While the ACDIS Leadership Council launched back in September 2019, my work with it began in January of this year. The Council exists to connect forward-thinking CDI supervisors, managers, and directors through personalized insight-sharing and networking experiences that forge valuable relationships, advance strategic priorities, and illuminate industry trends.

In my experience, while the education and experience sharing are central to the Council’s work, the networking and relationship building is really where the value lies.

In these last seven months, I’ve had a front-row seat to the collaboration and friendships that form between Council members. Members routinely help each other problem solve on our dedicated Council Forum thread, share their experiences in the monthly Council eNewsletter, the CDI Leadership Insider, participate in Council-led panel discussions on survey data or present case studies from their organization on bimonthly conference calls, and network over email.

Those on the ACDIS team have heard me say that the Leadership Council is like a mini association within the larger ACDIS membership that allows for focused relationship building. It has been a pleasure to see Council members build relationships, offering up their problems, experience, and solutions for the betterment of other CDI leaders.

Since our inaugural Council launched last year, applications for new members has been closed, but I’m happy to share that those applications will be opening up in the coming days. ACDIS will publicize across our normal channels—in CDI Strategies, on our social media channels, and via direct membership emails—but leaders interested in joining can also sign up for our alert list.

Folks on this list will receive early access to the application as soon as it’s available and applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Those selected for Council membership will be expected to fulfill a few participation requirements over the course of their term, but there is no monetary fee for Council membership.

If you’re interested in learning more about the Council, participation requirements, and eligibility, please visit our pages on the ACDIS website. You’re also always welcome to email me with any questions you may have.
