CDI Strategies - Volume 14, Issue 47

by Melissa Varnavas

I always thought it was Colonel Mustard in the kitchen with the knife. I know it really depends on who you’re playing the game with. For those who may not remember, Clue is a boardgame originally released from Parker Brothers. Each player assumes a character and reveals clues about themselves while everyone tries to guess who the “murderer” is. It was also a perfectly dark comedy starring Tim Curry back in 1985.

Members of our CDI community know that we like to have a little fun from time to time. We know that you do too. Our CDI Week activities on the theme of classic cinema “Coming to an Organization Near You!” had more than 1,500 participants and even those programs 100% remote got in on the fun by photoshopping their team onto classic movie posters and creating virtual “Oscar” awards for documentation and more. (Click here to view the slideshow.)

Extending the 10th anniversary of CDI Week out into our three-day Curtain Call: Behind the Scenes of Star-Studded CDI Programs online education event, it was a joy to almost literally pull back the curtain and shine a spotlight on the amazing work done in CDI programs across the country and share some good news and inspiration in these days.

So, back to Colonel Mustard and the gang. We're excited that we have a new outpatient event coming: ACDIS Online: Uncovering Outpatient CDI Opportunities, slated for December 9-11.

So get out your sleuthing gear—your oversized magnifying glass, your notebook and pen, your medical record detective prowess—for a unique chance to network with those who’ve pioneered outpatient endeavors, collaborate with colleagues to investigate common outpatient clinical scenarios, and follow the evidence wherever it may lead your own outpatient CDI adventure.

You know we like to have a little fun and with the 2020/2021 Event Committee’s help, we have a few twists and turns in store during this event.

We’ll have a full schedule and additional details in the coming days. Just thought I’d clue you in.
