Note from the Director of Programming: 2023 is winding down—don’t miss the last member call of the year

CDI Strategies - Volume 17, Issue 51

by Rebecca Hendren

The curse of adult life is that we seem to spend all our time exclaiming that we cannot believe how fast the time is passing. Can you believe summer is over? Can you believe little Johnny is in college now? Can you believe that we’re in the fourth quarter of the year and that it’s time for our final Quarterly Membership Call of the year?

ACDIS members can join the ACDIS Membership Quarterly Call today, Thursday, November 16, at 1:00 p.m. eastern time by registering at the link on this page: https://acdis.org/resources/2023-quarterly-conference-calls

In today’s call, we’ll cover what’s happening in ACDIS and opportunities for involvement and recognition. Laurie Prescott, RN, MSN, CCDS, CCDS-O, CDIP, CRC, ACDIS interim director, will chat about the small updates that were made last month to the ACDIS/AHIMA Guidelines for Achieving a Compliant Query Practice.

Following its 2022 publication, the committee realized the need for clarification regarding denial trends and queries. An addendum has been added to the end of the publication regarding this topic and you can be sure you’re up-to-date with the latest version of the document by downloading the latest version here.

The call will also feature a panel discussion with members of the ACDIS Advisory Board Susan Fantin, MSA, BSN, RN, CCDS, CDIP, and Tami McMasters-Gomez, MHL, BS, CCDS, CDIP, CCS-P, on the topic of compliance related to artificial intelligence and best practice alerts.

These calls are recorded and are available to members on the ACDIS website. The CEU period for each call extends a full year, so you can go back and listen to any you may have missed in the last 12 months to claim those CEUs.

Finally, can you believe it’s already the holidays? Next week is Thanksgiving and I wish all of you a safe and happy holiday.

Can you believe that it’s almost New Years?
