Note from the Editorial Manager: Put your best foot forward and apply to be on a committee!

I had the opportunity to get involved with my first committee a little over a year ago. I’ll admit, I was nervous (shoutout to the 2023 Events Committee for making me feel so welcome!). It can be daunting to join a group of strangers in regular meetings, working toward a shared goal, especially if you’ve never done something like it.
But one thing I love about ACDIS is that it’s not a group of strangers at all; it’s a community of professionals who want to empower each other to reach new heights. We’re not here to tear each other down if we fail at something new. Instead, we’re here to be a support system that allows you to feel comfortable taking the leap.
With that said, I want to encourage you to apply to serve on an ACDIS committee, even if it scares you—actually, especially if it scares you. Embrace a new challenge, knowing your community will catch you if you fall.
From now until June 30, you can apply to any of the following committees:
- Events Committee, which plans ACDIS events, including the 2025 ACDIS conference, in collaboration with the ACDIS team
- Furthering Education Committee, which assists in planning CDI Week activities each fall and organizes the ACDIS CDI Scholarship Program
- ACDIS Regulatory Committee, which reviews regulatory policy and coding and clinical updates to provide commentary to agencies on behalf of ACDIS and analysis to ACDIS membership
- Diversity and Inclusion Committee, which breaks the silence that accompanies discrimination and inequity and strives to make CDI an inclusive community that promotes diversity
- Physician Advisor Committee, which provides expertise and written guidance for physician advisors in CDI
Please note that the Events Committee and Furthering Education Committee is not open to vendors or consultants as ACDIS tries to ensure transparency and unbiased selection for events and awards.
