News: CMS call January 9 on low-volume appeals settlement option

CMS will make a settlement option available for providers and suppliers (appellants) with fewer than 500 appeals pending at the Office of Medicare Hearings and Appeals (OMHA) and the Medicare Appeals Council at the Departmental Appeals Board.

To explain the new settlement option, CMS is hosting a call on January 9. The CMS speakers will explain how the settlement process works, how to identify whether you’re eligible, and which of your pending appeals may be settled. 

The call will not include a Q&A session, so CMS encourages listeners to submit questions in advance to MedicareSettlementFAQ@cms.hhs.gov.
