2014 Conference, Track 6: CDI for the Newcomer

Nancy A. Entwistle, MPA, RHIT, CCDS, CCS, ACE, AHIMA-Approved ICD-10-CM/PCS Trainer Manager, Documentation Improvement and Clinical Coding Emerson Hospital in Concord, Mass., helps the new CDI specialist understand the components needed to effectively code the record, identify what he or she needs in order to submit a compliant claim, and gain a better understanding of the guidelines pertaining to the physician's written record. It will include an overview of common guidelines challenges, offer new opportunities for querying, and develop specialists' overall understanding of the complex MDCs that drive  case-mix index.
