News: CMS will update QualityNet to reflect reduced eCQM requirements
The fiscal year (FY) 2018 IPPS final rule, released earlier this month, decreased the number of electronic quality measure (eCQM) and calendar quarters for which hospitals must submit data. The QualityNet system, however, has not yet been updated to reflect those changes in reporting requirements, according the American Hospital Association (AHA).
CMS does intend on updating the new requirements, though. They will notify hospitals and vendors once the update is complete. Until then, though, hospitals and vendors that have submitted eCQM data can generate a current copy of their submission status report to confirm whether the corresponding measure IDs were accepted, the AHA says.
Once QualityNet has been updated, hospitals should regenerate and save the most recent eCQM submission status report for their records, according to CMS.
For more information regarding the coming updates, contact the QualityNet Help Desk at qnetsupport@hcqis.org or IQR support team at https://cms-ip.custhelp.com.
