ACDIS CDI Leadership Council Report: CDI as a Team Sport
Because record reviews and queries are done by individuals and not on a collective basis, it is easy to forget how much of a team sport CDI really is. Whether it’s interdepartmental collaboration, a quality review with leadership, an educational effort, or a simple one-on-one, the spirit of collaboration is not only present, but required in order to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
The Association of Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialists’ (ACDIS) recent CDI Leadership Council survey—produced in partnership with Solventum—explored respondents’ focus areas within provider-facing technology, front-end documentation collection processes, time impacts on reviewing and queries, solutions utilized in aiding record reviews, metrics to determine CDI department success, as well as platforms to track and trend such success.
Several Council members were then asked to take a closer look at the survey data and discuss how CDI leaders and specialists can best address these topics and provide the most efficient solutions to the problems posed within each domain. In this industry report, readers get a full inside look at the ways leaders approach CDI as a team sport.
