ACDIS update: Celebrate the life of Melissa Varnavas and watch the 2023 conference keynote
In August of 2022, ACDIS’ own Melissa Varnavas passed away after a brave battle against breast cancer.
Melissa was a beloved member of the ACDIS leadership team for almost 15 years. According to her friends and coworkers, Melissa was often described as a “free spirit” who had the “uncanny ability” to bring people together. She was not only described by her coworkers as ACDIS’ “heart and soul,” but as someone who lived a truly authentic life.
At the 2023 conference, ACDIS celebrated Melissa’s joyful life and spirit with a keynote speech delivered by ACDIS’ former director, and Melissa’s friend, Brian Murphy.
The speech discussed the importance of living a life of authenticity, his beautiful memories of Melissa, as well as her lasting contributions to our organization.
