ACDIS update: Retreat with us next week, June 23-25
The ACDIS Events Committee chose a retreat theme for our virtual event next week, ACDIS Online: CDI Summer Retreat, very intentionally. It conjures images of warm sandy beaches, palm trees, sunhats, and reading by a pool, or long, contemplative walks in the woods. We hope it feels like a breath of fresh air to you, helping you to breath new energy into your everyday CDI work.
“A retreat for me is a getaway,” says Events Committee member Madhu Subherwal, MHA, MBBS, CCDS, CDIP, CDI manager at Torrance (California) Memorial Medical Center. “Withdrawing from the day-to-day responsibilities—both professional and personal—and an opportunity to refocus and recharge. A place to take time learning and socializing with people of a like-mind, or just resting and relaxing.”
“A retreat is an opportunity for leaders and their team to resolve work issues and develop skills by understanding the team’s weaknesses and strengths to enhance opportunities to improve outcomes. This allows you to create fun and effective education while away from the office and remote atmospheres to help reenergize your new and current team members,” says Events Committee member Sandra Love, RN, BSN, CCDS, CCDS-O, CPC, CDI coding analyst at Wake Forest Baptist Health in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. “You can include other speakers to expand on topics that can affect your current workflow and include tips on how to decrease stress levels in the team member's work and home life.”
“It is scheduled time set aside to revisit the tangible and intangible educational, recreational, and emotional resources that keep me fueled and intact,” says Events Committee member Linda Jackson, RHIT, director of HIM at Arkansas State Hospital in Little Rock. “It is an opportunity for me to tap into the spirit of others and reenforce my own growth in a relaxed and fun environment. My sweet retreat!”
There’s still room left to register, so don’t wait. We’re looking forward to having you with us!
