ACDIS update: Thanks to ACDIS boards and committees for National Volunteer Week

CDI Strategies - Volume 12, Issue 16

In 1974, the president instituted the first National Volunteer Week. It’s a great opportunity for ACDIS to celebrate the work the boards and committees do all year long as volunteers serving the ACDIS and CDI community.

For the many hours of work and dedication, on behalf of the ACDIS membership and the CDI community, we want to say thank you to the members of all our boards and committees:

  • The ACDIS Advisory Board members, who provide leadership, expertise, and an industry voice for the ACDIS membership (for information, contact ACDIS Director Brian Murphy at bmurphy@acdis.org).
  • The CCDS Certification Board members, who maintain and update the CCDS program, including the exam and its prerequisites (for information, contact CCDS Coordinator Penny Richards at prichards@acdis.org).
  • The CCDS-O Certification Board members, who maintain and update the CCDS-Outpatient program, including the exam and its prerequisites (for information, contact Murphy).
  • The Annual Conference Committee members, who select all speakers, sessions, and the ACDIS Achievement Award winners for the annual conference (for information, contact Associate Editorial Director Melissa Varnavas as mvarnavas@acdis.org).
  • The ACDIS Symposium Committee members, who select all speakers and sessions for the annual ACDIS Symposium (for information, contact Associate Director Rebecca Hendren at rhendren@acdis.org).
  • The CDI Week Committee members, who plan activities for CDI Week and participate in Q&As based on the CDI Week Industry Survey (for information, contact ACDIS Editor Linnea Archibald at larchibald@acdis.org).
  • The Forms and Tools Library Committee members, who review materials donated to the ACDIS Resource Library for accuracy, compliance, relevance, and effectiveness (for information, contact Archibald).
  • The Chapter Advisory Board members, who serve as liaisons between local chapter leaders and ACDIS national administration by participating on chapter leadership calls, promoting best practice, and providing guidance to leaders across the country (for information, contact Varnavas).
  • The CDI Practice Guidelines Committee members, who define best practice for the CDI profession and provide feedback on ACDIS’ offerings to ensure the association delivers premiere materials suited for today’s CDI professional (for information, contact Archibald).
