Conference corner: Get ready for spirit days at the ACDIS conference next week!

Next week marks the official start of the 2021 ACDIS Conference, over two years after the last conference took play in May 2019. We are so excited to be with you all again. To celebrate our excitement, we have a few spirit days planned for the conference.

Tuesday, October 26, the first full day of the conference kicks off with ACDIS pride day. We hope to see you all clad in your best purple and orange, sporting the ACDIS colors and gear as we gather again.

Wednesday, October 27, is state pride day where attendees are encouraged to wear something indicative of their state. Maybe an “I <3 NY” t-shirt, a Cowboys hat, or sweatshirt from your state college. You can bet you’ll see a few ACDIS national members donning Red Sox gear to support our home team on their journey to the World Series.

On Thursday, October 28, the last day of the conference, we want to try something a little new. To support this year’s theme of Stepping Forward, we want to see you in your most fun footwear. You could make some ACDIS-themed sneakers that sparkle with glitter, maybe deck-out your footwear with Halloween-inspired decorations, or anything else you can think of! ACDIS Editor Carolyn Riel may or may not be rolling around on light up sneaker-roller skate hybrids…

Please note that because most of the ACDIS national team will be onsite for the conference next week, you can expect a shortened version of the CDI Strategies newsletter. You’ll still get news items, a note from one of us on the team, and some ACDIS updates, so be sure to check your inbox per usual!

We cannot wait to see those of you who can attend at the conference, and for those of you who are not able to attend, remember we are offering a three-day virtual event titled Next Steps: An ACDIS Encore on November 17-19.
