Local Chapter Events: Sessions for leaders and local members offered

All networking group leaders are invited to participate in the ACDIS’ leadership conference call Thursday, November 7, noon to 1:30 p.m. (Eastern). The agenda includes:
- Lessons from year one: Discussion of how two networking groups started
- Tips for transitioning leadership responsibilities
- ICD-10 education: What can ACDIS chapters do to help members?
- National business

Northwest Mountain States: Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, and Utah CDI professionals are invited to join a conference call Thursday, October 24, noon pacific, 1 p.m., mountain. For information, email Robin Hetzler at RHetzler@kmc.org.
Ohio: The Southwest Ohio ACDIS Chapter meets Thursday, October 24, 3:30-5:30 p.m., at the Atrium Medical Center, in Middletown. The event features a physician discussing clinical indicators for acute renal failure followed by a discussion and case studies of how to code for conditions in ICD-9 and ICD-10. Pennsylvania: The Southern New Jersey/Philadelphia Regional ACDIS Chapter meets Thursday, November 7, 8-10 a.m., at LaSalle University, Bucks County Center in Newtown, Pa. New Jersey: The NJ ACDIS Chapter meets Friday, November 8, 1:30-4:30 p.m., at Reimbursement Review Associates, Inc., in New Brunswick. Deborah Gardner-Brown, RHIT, CCS, C-CDI, CI-CDI, CDIP, and Sandra Phillips Sperry, RN, MPA, APC, CMC, FACHE, present, “A Strategic Review of CDI Applications and Analysis of the 2014 ICD-10-CM/PCS Coding Guidelines.” Cost is $69; $59 for NJACDIS members; $39 students.
