Local Chapter Meetings: Halloween Event and November Sessions Set

CDI Strategies - Volume 8, Issue 22

Next Friday you may very well expect a visit from ghouls and goblins—Halloween is upon us. While most individuals will open their doors October 31 to Disney’s Queen Elsa or miniature zombies looking for candy, Salem (Oregon) Health System will open its doors to CDI professionals looking to network and to take away a few educational treats from the half-dozen presentations offered.

The meeting takes place from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and includes a continental breakfast, lunch, four different raffles, and a costume contest (although costumes are optional, outfits addressing CDI puns could prove particularly frightening). Additional sessions include:

  • How to Talk to Doctors About CDI, Dr. Claire Norton
  • Internal Medicine Diabetic Complications, Dr. Cort Garrison
  • Internal Medicine Renal Failure, Dr. Lance M. Dicker
  • Heart Failure, A-Fib After Heart Surgery, Dr. Priya Kansal and Mary Bedell, Clinical Nurse Specialist
  • Encephalopathy, Dr. David Tate

We can’t wait to see the photos from this group meeting! For additional information regarding the Oregon (ACDIS NW) Chapter, email Eileen Pracz at mrsmgd@comcast.net.
