Local chapter update: Chapter Advisory Board to focus on leadership engagement

CDI Strategies - Volume 14, Issue 10

The 2020 ACDIS Chapter Advisory Board will be focused on leadership engagement. The Chapter Advisory Board includes volunteers of both past and current chapter leaders from a wide variety of chapter types. ACDIS local chapters are free to determine their own bylaws and structure including the formulation of their leadership teams and subcommittees, non-profit status, transition and vendor policies, among other items.

While there are a number of standard practices ACDIS requires via its Local Chapter Agreement form, the Chapter Advisory Board works with the ACDIS administration and the local chapter leadership teams to identify best practices and disseminate that information to volunteers across the country.

This year, the Chapter Advisory Board will once again be holding a number of free, informational calls to anyone serving in a local chapter leadership board or committee. A complete list of these calls will be released in early April. We’re also excited to have the Chapter Advisory Board helping the national leadership team identify ways to expand its ACDIS Road Trip map via virtual and in-person participation in local chapter educational events.

Additionally, the Chapter Advisory Board will be assisting ACDIS national in mentoring local chapters, making themselves available to participate on local chapter leadership planning calls and reaching out to help anyone who may need it. Finally, the Chapter Advisory Board will be assisting the national administration in a long overdue overhaul of the local chapter leadership toolkit with an aim to create a comprehensive guidebook for leadership volunteers of all experience levels.

Congratulations to the newest members and our appreciation to both our ongoing volunteers and to those who are stepping back from their duties this year after serving us so well. Our appreciation to the following:
