Local chapter update: First in-person local chapter meeting since the pandemic

CDI Strategies - Volume 15, Issue 45

The ACDIS Florida local chapter held their first in-person event this past weekend, making them the first chapter to do so since the onset of COVID-19.

For the event, the conference room normally slated to seat 200 was capped with under 100 attendees to be sure they could maintain social distancing. The event also enforced mask wearing for all attendees, and provided wipes and hand sanitizer.

Below is an excerpt from the Florida chapter’s newsletter about their event. For questions about going back to in-person meetings, contact ACDIS Editor Carolyn Riel (criel@acdis.org).

“On a beautiful Saturday in October at UF Health in Gainesville, the Florida Chapter of ACDIS welcomed back their members for the first in-person meeting since the pandemic.

The meeting was well-attended by approximately 85 participants.

Our guest speakers conveyed new education about coding, quality measures, query suggestions, leadership, nutrition, and exercise.

Sherri Blanchard form Orlando Health spoke brilliantly, inspiring and encouraging words about leadership. She donated a book to a lucky attendee.

Subject matter expert Lauren Hayden educated about Nutrition & Yoga with members participating in yoga & relaxation techniques, and Medovent’s Amy Hammond donated two of her published children’s books to raffle.”

The following is a list of upcoming events for ACDIS local chapters. Visit your local chapter’s webpage on the ACDIS site for additional information about upcoming meetings. To join a chapter if you haven’t already or to update your chapter contact information/affiliation, click here.
