Local chapter update: Keep ACDIS informed of upcoming events

ACDIS wants to remind chapter leaders to contact both ACDIS Associate Editorial Director Melissa Varnavas (mvarnavas@acdis.org) as well as ACDIS Editor Carolyn Riel (criel@acdis.org) with information about any upcoming events to have them included in this listing as well as on the pages dedicated to local chapter activities on the ACDIS website. Doing so helps us keep the CDI community informed about all the valuable education being offered across the country.

In sending meeting information please include:

  • Day, date, and time of the event
  • Speaker(s) name, credentials, job title, and organizational affiliation
  • Title/topic of educational session(s)
  • Any special circumstances or events such as giveaways or games
  • Principal contact person and email address
  • Registration link/information

August:

  • The Massachusetts, Central New York, and Hudson Valley New York ACDIS Chapters join MaHIMA and NYHIMA for a series of web-based educational sessions each Thursday in August at noon, eastern. To register, click here. The agenda includes:
    • August 6, COVID panel discussion led by ACDIS Associate Editorial Director Melissa Varnavas with Central New York ACDIS chapter leaders Dawn Burr (Crouse), Bobbie Jo Massena (Upstate), Pam Shapley (Ascension), Jennifer Walts (St. Joseph's Health), along with Hudson Valley New York chapter leaders Kerry Seekircher (Northwell), and Rachel Roeber (Garnet).
    • August 13, Virginia (Ginny) Gleason, CCM, CPHRM, BS, senior manager of advisory services, from nThrive will present “Importance of Clinical Validation in Denials Management.”
    • August 20, Ashley Chamberland, RN, CCDS-O, enterprise manager of ambulatory CDI at Northern Light Health, Maine, presents “Ambulatory CDI: From program outset to physician engagement and beyond.”
    • August 27, clinical validation, speaker TBD.
  • The Kentucky ACDIS chapter meets Friday, August 14, noon, eastern, for a panel discussion on physician engagement. For more information, contact Lisa Fuller (lisa.fuller@bhsi.com).
