Local chapter update: Keep chapter members up to date with newsletters

Sending out newsletters to your local chapter’s members is a great way to keep everyone engaged and in the know of what the chapter is up to. Newsletters can be sent monthly, seasonally, or quarterly—whatever works for you! You can include information such as next meetings and instructions for registering or dialing in if the meeting is virtual. Send member stories so everyone can get to know each other, or fun social media challenges to get people connected.

No matter what you choose to share in your newsletters, it’s a great way to keep your members engaged. And if you want it posted on the ACDIS website for your local chapter page, send a version of the newsletter to ACDIS Editor Carolyn Riel (criel@acdis.org) for posting. Need a copy of your recent chapter roster to send out your newsletter? Reach out to Riel as well and she can get that information for you.

July:

  • The Ohio ACDIS chapter meets Friday, July 16, 12-1 p.m. eastern, via webinar. The topic is the state of the CDI industry presented by Melissa Varnavas. For information, contact Kathryn Vermillion (kathryn.vermillion@ensemblehp.com).

  • The Central Pennsylvania ACDIS chapter meets Friday, July 23, 10 a.m.-1 p.m., via webinar. For information, contact Courtney Spangler (cspangler@gbmc.org).

August:

  • The Oklahoma ACDIS chapter meets Wednesday, August 11, 12 p.m., via webinar for a virtual Oklahoma Facility roundtable. The event will be hosted by the chapter leaders Darcy Genisio and Kate Siemens. For information, contact Kate Siemens (mailto:katherine.siemens@mercy.net).
  • The Maryland ACDIS chapter meets Friday, August 20, 12-2 p.m., via webinar. For information, contact Deb McClain (dlmcclain@frederick.health).
  • The Arizona ACDIS chapter meets Saturday, August 21 via webinar with AzHIMA for a virtual coding roundtable. For information, contact Sydni Johnson (sydni.johnson@bannerhealth.com).
  • The Minnesota ACDIS chapter meets Wednesday, August 25, 1 p.m., via webinar. For information, contact Jera Van Damme (jera.vandamme@essentiahealth.org). 

September:

  • The Kansas City, Missouri, ACDIS chapter meets Wednesday, September 8, 2-3:30 p.m. Details to follow. For information, contact Debra Canova (Debra.Canova@tmcmed.org).
