Local chapter update: Survey your members for education ideas

The Texas ACDIS Chapter recently sent a survey to CDI leaders within its membership in order to gain ideas for future educational and discussion topics. Even though the number of responses was small, the thoughts provoked were huge. The group is now looking at having either virtual or breakout sessions specifically geared toward CDI leaders in the state of Texas as well as possible round-table discussion groups on specific topics. Local chapter leaders can request their membership list from ACDIS at any time and can send out formal or informal surveys to their members to better gauge their education and networking needs.

July:

  • The California ACDIS chapter meets Wednesday, July 28, at 11 a.m., via webinar, regarding the State of the CDI Industry with ACDIS Editorial Director Melissa Varnavas. To register, click here.
  • The Central Pennsylvania ACDIS chapter meets Friday, July 23, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., via webinar. For information, contact Courtney Spangler (cspangler@gbmc.org).

August:

  • The Oklahoma ACDIS chapter meets Wednesday, August 11, 12 p.m., via webinar for a virtual Oklahoma Facility roundtable. The event will be hosted by the chapter leaders Darcy Genisio and Kate Siemens. For information, contact Kate Siemens (mailto:katherine.siemens@mercy.net).
  • The Tennessee ACDIS chapter presents a webinar regarding “Mutually Accountable Leadership” on Friday, August 13, at 1 p.m. For information, contact Kristie Perry (Kristie.Perry@Erlanger.org).
  • The Maryland ACDIS chapter meets Friday, August 20, 12-2 p.m., via webinar. For information, contact Deb McClain (dlmcclain@frederick.health).
  • The Arizona ACDIS chapter meets Saturday, August 21 via webinar with AzHIMA for a virtual coding roundtable. For information, contact Sydni Johnson (sydni.johnson@bannerhealth.com).
  • The Minnesota ACDIS chapter meets Wednesday, August 25, 1 p.m., via webinar. For information, contact Jera Van Damme (jera.vandamme@essentiahealth.org). 

September:

  • The Kansas City, Missouri, ACDIS chapter meets Wednesday, September 8, 2-3:30 p.m. Details to follow. For information, contact Debra Canova (Debra.Canova@tmcmed.org).

October:
