News: Doctors and Clinicians Preview Period is now open

CMS’ Doctors and Clinicians Preview Period, part of the agency’s effort to improve public data related to quality of care, is open through March 25.

2019 Quality Payment Program (QPP) performance information can be previewed on clinician and group profiles on the Medicare Care Compare page as well as in the Provider Data Catalog (PDC). Details on how to preview this information can be found here and here.

Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs) can preview their performance information via their 2019 MIPS Performance Feedback Reports. A list of ACO performance information targeted for public reporting is available on the Care Compare: Doctors and Clinicians Initiative page.

CMS plans to combine its eight separate Compare tools into one, standardized and simplified format, according to a January release. CDI programs can leverage information related to public reporting and quality measures as a means to improve overall physician documentation.
