Note from the Associate Editor: Share your epic CDI journey in the September/October edition of the CDI Journal!

Perhaps one of the oldest and most remarkable stories of human history, The Odyssey, has proven itself relevant once again. In our modern era, it now comes back to us on the magnificently large screens of IMAX theaters.
There is a little-known fact about this timeless epic, however.
I, too, have recently experienced an odyssey of my own: a CDI odyssey. And what better way to celebrate this than with the next edition of the CDI Journal focusing on getting started with CDI? Contribute your own expertise now!
On my quest to understand the elusive world of CDI, instead of encountering cyclopes and lotus eaters, I encountered the formidable ICD-10-CM guidelines. I have yet to fully grasp the complex worlds of DRGs and sepsis, let alone the many other complex challenges CDI professionals take on with bravery and integrity that puts Odysseus to shame.
My first few months here at ACDIS have been challenging and rewarding in so many ways. My loom is CDI Strategies (which is free to subscribe to). My guiding force is not Athena, but the incredible, hardworking, knowledgeable ACDIS team. Troy is, obviously, the 2027 ACDIS conference (apply to speak now!). The ACDIS world is a host to countless new quests and experiences, all with the hope of helping you with your own CDI journeys.
I have learned so much from this community and am so grateful for the opportunity to continue to. Because, truly, who better to learn from than those familiar with the treacherous yet rewarding journey? This is why we invite you to contribute your own expertise, your own epic stories and advice, to the next edition of the CDI Journal.
The deadline for submissions is Saturday, August 1, 2026. This leaves just enough time for you to embark on your own mental quest through what you may want to share and craft a timeless relic to share with your professional community. Leave your mark now!
If this is not already rewarding enough, our Journal articles selected for publication in the CDI Journal will be awarded ACDIS CEUs on a 0.5 CEUs per 350 published words basis. Articles tend to be within the range of 750-1,500 words.
