Off the unit: CDI efforts offer insight into international volunteer experience
When Melanie Halpern, RN-BC, MBA, CCDS, CCRA, CDI manager at University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, began her CDI career in 2004, she didn’t have international aspirations. When she found out about the International Surgical Health Initiative (ISHI), she had to get involved. We asked her some questions about her experiences.
