Ask the CCDS Coordinator: How long does it take to process an application?

Q: How long will it take to process my application for the CCDS exam? I’m anxious to take my test.

A: Great question. I tell candidates that it generally takes a week or two for the application to move through the process, but it really depends on how quickly your payment clears through our finance department.

Each Monday morning, I get a report from finance of all the payments that cleared in the previous week. Then, each Monday afternoon, I send those names to the exam company on a weekly approved candidate report. The exam company sends a notice to the candidates with scheduling instructions and each candidate has 90 days to schedule the exam.

So, the soonest your name would go to the exam company would be on the Monday following your payment submission. How quickly you can get a test date depends on seat availability at your local testing center.
