News: Updated ICD-10-PCS code set includes 371 new codes

CMS recently published the fiscal year (FY) 2025 ICD-10-PCS code set and ICD-10-PCS Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting, according to JustCoding.

The new ICD-10-PCS contains 371 new codes, 61 deleted codes, and three new tables; however, it does not include any changes to the present guidelines.

Some of the new codes include:

• 04140AR, Bypass of splenic artery to lower artery with autologous arterial tissue, open approach
• 047L352, Dilation of left femoral artery with two drug-eluting intraluminal devices, sustained release, percutaneous approach
• 071F4ZK, Bypass of right lower extremity lymphatic to thoracic duct, percutaneous endoscopic approach
• X28F3VA, Division of aortic valve using intraluminal bioprosthetic valve leaflet splitting technology in existing valve, percutaneous approach, new technology group 10
• XXA536A, Circulatory Filtration, blood pathogens, percutaneous approach, new technology group 10

According to JustCoding, this newest iteration of ICD-10-PCS brings the FY 2025 code set to a total of 78,948 codes available for discharges occurring from October 1, 2024, through September 30, 2025.
