Note from the ACDIS Director: ACDIS welcomes new CDI Education Director Karen Elmore!

ACDIS welcomes a new team member this week. Karen Elmore, BSN, RN, CCDS, joins us as CDI education director and will oversee all ACDIS’ educational offerings, including instructor-led training, boot camps and eLearning, and our PROPELCDI training and staff development.

Karen will also play a key role in the association by serving as subject matter expert, chair of the ACDIS Advisory Board, speaker on member webinars and live events, and will help guide the strategic direction of the association.

Karen has more than 39 years of nursing experience, including ICU nursing, clinical education, professional development, CDI program leadership, and nationally recognized contributions to physician engagement and documentation integrity.

She helped start her prior organization’s first CDI program in 2008 and has been deeply involved in CDI and physician education ever since.

Karen may be a familiar face to many as she’s presented at six ACDIS national conferences, won the ACDIS Achievement Award for Excellence in Provider Engagement in 2020, speaks frequently at ACDIS local chapter meetings, and has been involved in the ACDIS Leadership Council and numerous committees.
