Moving Beyond the Standard Markers for Success

Review rate has been a standard metric among CDI professionals for years, but the use of prioritization tools to the CDI workflow means that reviewing every case is no longer necessary or the appropriate metric to measure CDI success. Fran Jurcak, Chief Clinical Strategist at Iodine, and Nita Bruce, Senior Product Support Specialist at Iodine, will discuss how CDI teams can better measure productivity and program success beyond the historically utilized CDI metrics.

They will also share new metrics that CDI specialists should start looking at that better assess success and productivity as priorities and processes shift in the ever-evolving healthcare landscape.

Learning objectives:

  1. Understand the limitations of using standard review rates as a performance metric
  2. Identifying the differences between outcome metrics and performance metrics
  3. Discuss new metrics that allow CDI leaders to better manage their programs
