ACDIS update: ACDIS Scholarships provide opportunities for new and seasoned CDI professionals
Applications for the annual ACDIS CDI Scholarship program are open, and we need your help to spread the word! From now until Tuesday, November 14, any who are active in the CDI field have the chance to demonstrate their passion for CDI and financial need for education to receive one of four scholarships offered by ACDIS. ACDIS awards four scholarships annually for the following educational activities. Please note that ACDIS will provide each recipient with the registration information and/or login instructions, etc., related to accessing their award, rather than a monetary prize.
- Introduction to CDI Scholarship: A one-year ACDIS membership + enrollment in the ACDIS CDI Apprenticeship program
- Professional Development Scholarship: Registration to an online CDI Boot Camp of the recipient's choice
- Outpatient CDI Scholarship: Registration to the ACDIS Symposium: Outpatient CDI
- Melissa Varnavas Scholarship: Registration to the ACDIS national conference
Applicants will be asked to provide their education and employment history, employment verification from their current employer on organization letterhead, letter(s) of recommendation, information about funding for their CDI education, and free-text answers explaining their interest in the scholarship and the CDI industry as a whole. After the application period is closed, the Furthering Education Committee will review each application looking at a number of candidate traits, including but not limited to:
- Professional background and time in the CDI field
- Existing educational resources and budget
- Recommendations from peers
- Overall application strength
