ACDIS update: Embark on a fantastic CDI Week journey with an activity list, official poster, fact sheet!

CDI Strategies - Volume 20, Issue 29

Join us September 14-18 for a fantastical celebration of ACDIS’ annual CDI Week!  This year’s theme is “Knights of the CDI Round Table!”

During CDI Week, ACDIS works to make the impact of CDI professionals—like yourself—known. We do this by sharing the latest, most up-to-date industry news, cutting-edge resources and education, and—most importantly—fun things for your CDI departments to play around with!

To that end, the 2026 ACDIS Furthering Education Committee has started compiling activities for you and your team to partake in during CDI Week, starting with a CDI Week activity list! Draw inspiration from it to celebrate on your own or with your department, remote or in-person!

In line with our “Knights of the CDI Round Table” theme, here’s a sneak peek of some of the many fantastic ideas on the activity list:

  • Leaders can conduct a knighting ceremony for each team member with a literal or metaphorical CDI sword prop and/or award them a crest, such as “Best Scribe,” “Query Queen/King,” “Review Slayer,” “Dragon Tamer,” and “Savvy Squire.
  • Share a CDI-themed riddle every day with your team; count up who got the most right at the end of the week and award them a crown.
  • Create fantasy-themed educational resources such as “How to tame your dragon” for engaging providers or “Slaying AI dragons” for combating AI hallucinations.
  • Send out a “kingdom scroll” each day highlighting a team member and their accomplishments.
  • And many more to be found on the activity list!

In addition, as you begin to plan your kingdom’s celebrations, make sure you download the 2026 official CDI Week poster to decorate your home workspace or office!

Are you new to the profession? Maybe new to ACDIS? Never heard of CDI Week before? We’ve got you covered!

Check out our new fact sheet that helps answers questions like:

  • What is a CDI specialist?
  • Why is the CDI specialist role emerging?
  • Why is a week of national recognition needed?
  • What resources can I access during CDI Week and where?
  • And more!

Be sure to keep an eye out on our CDI Week page for the many resources leading up to and during CDI Week! And if you have your own activity ideas or resources you’d like to share, feel free to send them to us at info@acdis.org.

We can’t wait to celebrate the fantastic profession of CDI with you in September!
