ACDIS update: Get inspired to celebrate and download fun resources in preparation for CDI Week!

CDI Strategies - Volume 17, Issue 36

ACDIS is always of the opinion that CDI efforts need more recognition, and each year during CDI Week we spend extra time to help make that happen. The 2023 Furthering Education Committee has worked hard to put together resources for you and your team so that September 18-22 is your favorite year of celebrations yet!

First, check out this list of ideas from the committee on how to celebrate on your own or with your department, remote or in-person! Here’s a quick preview of some of their stellar ideas:

  • Organize a book club with your department a few weeks before CDI Week and choose a book to read on the subject of finding personal success. Plan your book club meeting to discuss it during CDI Week.
  • Create a scavenger hunt game for the newly updated ACDIS/AHIMA Guidelines for Achieving a Compliant Query Practice.
  • Ask everyone to contribute their favorite book, compile a list, and share. Or do a book swap between coworkers and share your thoughts with each other during CDI Week.
  • Hold a book cover contest that showcases your CDI team. Cut out pictures from magazines to make a collage or use scrapbook materials. Get creative!
  • Print out CDI tips and make bookmarks that can be handed out to providers.

We’ve also designed two bookmarks that you can print out, whether on your own or for your department! The CDI Success Stories: Writing Your Next Chapter bookmark is a fun handout that can be given to CDI teams, while the Provider Tip Sheet bookmark is a fun, celebratory way to inform providers about CDI Week while also sneaking in a bit of education. Download our CDI Week poster if you haven’t yet, and check out our CDI fact sheet that can be circulated to different departments and organizational leaders as well!

We’ve also received a few submissions from CDI departments of resources they’ve created, such as this creative sample CDI fact sheet, and we expect more to come—so keep an eye out on the CDI Week page of our website for more resources leading up to and throughout CDI Week! And if you have your own activity ideas or resources you’d like to share, feel free to send them to us at info@acdis.org.
