ACDIS update: New poll investigates retrospective review process
At the time of the 2017 Physician Queries Benchmarking Survey, 48.75% of respondents conducted retrospective, pre-bill reviews and 14.96% conducted post-bill reviews. While this data is only a year and a half old, we know that things sometimes move quickly in CDI.
Anecdotally, ACDIS has heard of more programs reviewing records retrospectively either in the outpatient/ambulatory setting due to the fast-paced nature of the setting, or as part of a denials management, or mortality review process.
To take the pulse of the current retrospective review landscape, ACDIS has a new polling question for you. Please take a moment to respond to the poll today. We appreciate your help!
The result of the poll will be shared as part of an article in the January/February CDI Journal.
Editor’s note: Have an idea for a future polling question or if you’d like to be interviewed for the retrospective review article, email ACDIS Editor Linnea Archibald (firstname.lastname@example.org).
